Report: Kyrie Irving Requests Trade From Cleveland Cavaliers

This move is nothing short of shocking for NBA fans everywhere. Irving has gone to the Finals the past three seasons alongside LeBron James and company, winning the championship in 2016. But, it seems Irving might want an opportunity to lead a team on his own again.

Irving has expressed that he wants to play in a situation where he can be more of a focal point and that he no longer wants to play alongside LeBron James, sources said.

This off-season has been disastrous for the Cavaliers. First, they fired General Manager David Griffin, who they are probably really missing right now. He made the right moves for the team and put them in the best position. It is July 21st and the Cavaliers still do not have a general manager. Because of that, the attention is turned towards Dan Gilbert. He has made questionable moves as the owner of the Cavaliers. In just one summer, we could start to see the beginning of the end of the Cavaliers.

Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reported shortly after that Irving noted the Spurs as a team he wants to be traded to. Over the next few months, it will be interesting to see if the Cavaliers indeed trade Irving. At 25 years old, his trade value is at high as it may ever be.

Is LeBron Next to Leave?

If Irving is traded, the possibility of James becomes even more of a reality. Irving was one of the reasons he returned in 2014, and all James cares about at this point is winning. He wants to be in the best situation possible and if Irving is traded, he would likely be the next one gone.

Just like that, we could be seeing the end of the Cleveland Cavaliers. There did not seem to be any problems with him and the rest of his teammates. But, he may really just want a chance to have his own team.
