The Memphis Grizzlies have signed unrestricted free agent small forward Tyreke Evans to a contract worth $3.3 million over one year.

Free agent Tyreke Evans has agreed to a one-year, $3.3M deal with the Memphis Grizzlies, league sources tell ESPN.

Evans contract will take him through the end of the 2017-18 season.
The former Pelican has struggled with injury, only featuring in 40 games during the 2016-17 campaign. Evans averaged just 10.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game last season.
Evans has suffered from a chronic right knee injury which has forced him to miss much of the past two seasons, requiring surgery twice. Back in February, Evans was traded alongside Buddy Hield, Langston Galloway, a 2017 first-round and second-round draft pick to the Kings in exchange for DeMarcus Cousins and Omri Casspi. On March 8, 2017, Evans scored a season-high 26 points in a 114–104 loss to the San Antonio Spurs. If he is finally able to overcome his injury woes, Evans may be able to provide some consistency. Evans shows promise as a mid-range shooter, and has also improved his ability to attack the basket during his time in the NBA.
The 2009-10 NBA Rookie of the Year is entering his ninth season in the league, during which he will be 28 years old. Having only played for two teams in the NBA, this move could mark a fresh start for Evans. Whether in the starting lineup or coming off the bench, Evans is a solid pickup for Memphis.
