Report: Zaza Pachulia Re-Signs With Golden State Warriors

According to reports, veteran center Zaza Pachulia re-signs with the Golden State Warriors on a one-year, $3.5 million contract.

The Golden State Warriors have re-signed unrestricted free agent center Zaza Pachulia to a contract worth $3.5 million for one year.

Sam Amick of USA Today broke the news Friday evening:

Zaza Pachulia Re-Signs With Golden State Warriors on One-Year Contract

Pachulia’s contract will take him through the end of the 2017-18 season.

Pachulia averaged 6.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game last season for the Golden State Warriors. He started in 70 games for Golden State and averaged just over 18 minutes per contest. Despite the low playing time, Pachulia was effective in those minutes, shooting 53 percent from the field.

Looking forward, Pachulia will provide a solid presence in the paint. He can play in an uptempo offense, as he showed last season with the Warriors. Known for his selflessness on the court, Pachulia will look to continue to be a solid defensive player who can, at times, contribute offensively. The Warriors will need Pachulia to continue to do the little things in order to compete for a championship in the 2017-18 season.

Pachulia is going into his 14th season in the league, during which he’ll be 34 years old. Besides Golden State, he has spent time with the Orlando Magic, Milwaukee Bucks, Atlanta Hawks, and Dallas Mavericks, including eight seasons in Atlanta. The Magic selected Pachulia in the second round of the 2003 NBA Draft.
