The Miami Heat have re-signed unrestricted free agent forward James Johnson to a four-contract.
Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN broke the news Thursday evening:
Free agent James Johnson has agreed to the framework of a four-year deal to stay with the Miami Heat, league sources tell ESPN.

James Johnson Re-Signs With Miami Heat on Four-Year Contract
Johnson’s new contract will take him through the end of the 2020-21 season.
Johnson averaged 12.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game last season for the Heat. The 2016-17 season was the best of Johnson’s career, as he proved that he can be a solid contributor to his team. The Miami Heat barely missed the playoffs after finishing 9th in the Eastern Conference.
Looking forward, Johnson will continue to be a solid role player in Miami. Having a standout season last year with the Heat, the team can look for him to keep improving. The Heat will need Johnson to produce consistently on both ends of the floor and play at the level he did last year in order to contend for a playoff spot next season.
Johnson is going into his 9th season in the league, during which he’ll be 30 years old. He played for the Heat last year, and previously played for the Toronto Raptors, Chicago Bulls, Sacramento Kings, and Memphis Grizzlies.
