Shooting guard Lou Williams, 30, has been traded from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Houston Rockets in exchange for swingman Corey Brewer and a first-round pick. Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical broke the news:

Lou Williams Traded to Houston Rockets
Williams has one year left on his contract after this season. The contract has no player or team option included, so Williams is set to become an unrestricted free agent in the 2018 off-season. The Lakers signed Williams to his three-year, $21 million deal back in July 2015. Williams signed with the Lakers just three months after being named NBA Sixth Man of the Year.
Williams, an 11-year NBA veteran, can provide the Rockets with great scoring as a backup guard. He should fit well into their reserve unit, as Williams was the Lakers’ leading scorer off the bench. Williams should have the green light to continue launching three-pointers in Houston’s trigger-happy system.
The 6’1” guard is averaging just over 18 points and about 3 assists per game this season. He’s also shooting about 43 percent from the field and just under 38 percent from beyond the arc.
Williams was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the 45th overall pick of the 2005 NBA Draft. The guard spent the first seven years of his NBA career with the Sixers before moving on to play for the likes of Atlanta, Toronto, and Los Angeles.
