After playing tough and looking like a team coming together against the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday, the Brooklyn Nets have been hit with some sobering news. Point guard Jeremy Lin will be out for at least the next two weeks.
Jeremy Lin Out at Least Two Weeks
Just before half-time, in a seemingly innocuous motion, Lin tugged at his left hamstring. This was after he completed an assist to Joe Harris in the right corner for three. Lin did not return for the second half.

This is potentially bad news for the Nets, who are still forming their new identity as a team. With a match-up against Lin’s former team, the New York Knicks, looming, one can only imagine Lin’s disappointment. Lin being out is just the latest in growing line of Nets guards missing in action. The team’s presently injured guards include Greivis Vasquez, Caris LeVert, and Randy Foye.
In Lin’s absence, it looks like it’ll be “point guard by committee” for Brooklyn. A lot will fall on the shoulders of New York natives Sean Kilpatrick and rookie Isaiah Whitehead. Kilpatrick filled in admirably for Lin in the second half against the Pistons, finishing with 24 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and two steals for good measure.
The Good News
However, there’s also some more potentially good news for the Nets:

Foye can play both guard positions, so the Nets will be hopeful that he is good to go on Friday against the Charlotte Hornets.
