The 29-year-old is coming off an impressive 2024 season with the Milwaukee Brewers. Adames sported a .251 batting average with 32 home runs, 153 hits, 112 RBI (career-high), 21 stolen bases (career-high), 74 walks, and a 3.1 WAR. Adames is a stud infielder who was highly sought after this offseason. The Giants will be getting a clutch player with Adames, who excels both with his defense and offense. He has been a standout shortstop/infielder since being traded from the Tampa Bay Rays to the Brewers in 2021. His strong efforts are fueled by his speed, 4.8 fWAR, and 119 wRC+. He put forth a strong performance in 2024 and has been a consistent player for the Brewers. In the 2025 season, he could move to a different infield position, such as third base, making him more versatile.
Another hallmark of Adames’ 2024 success was reaching the 20-home run mark for the fifth time in his career. He also reached the 25-home run mark for the third time in his career. Adames has proven himself to be a top-five shortstop who is also an all-category threat. In the last four years, he ranks 29th among all position players in fWAR (15.6). In addition to hitting between 24 and 32 home runs each season with a tight ISO range (.190-.220). His quality at-bats make him a valuable player, along with his leadership. He continues to stand as one of the most skilled and respected shortstops in MLB. Over the past three seasons, he crushed 87 home runs, which ranked him as the third-best shortstop in that category behind Corey Seager and Francisco Lindor.
