In an offseason amidst a lot of change for the Minnesota Twins, they announced today changes at their executive level. Chief baseball officer and vice president Derek Falvey has been elevated to president of baseball and business operations, while the outgoing president, Dave St. Peter, will transition to strategic advisor. The Twins also announced they have filled the general manager and Senior Vice President positions by promoting within the organization with Jeremy Zoll, who began his time with the Twins seven seasons ago. Both roles became vacant when Thad Levine and the Twins parted ways once the 2024 season concluded.

Time of Change
Amid the turmoil of the end of the 2024 season, the Pohlad family announced they are exploring options to sell the team. St. Peter’s new role will include providing guidance to the Pohlad family while they look to sell the franchise. The team announced other changes to their coaching staff as the Twins parted ways with multiple coaches. With the changes made today, the Twins have now overhauled three significant components of their organization.
Work For the New General Manager
Falvey and Zoll have their work cut out for them as they take these new roles. For example, having a team slash line of .246/.315/.411 in 2024, the Twins lacked of offensive consistency with these middling numbers. They will also have to take a look at the pathways their younger players take to make it to the big leagues and stay healthy. Promising players like Royce Lewis and Brooks Lee had a few standout moments this past season, but injuries got in the way. The new GM and President duo must look at the best path to prepare their young players and keep them healthy.
Derek Falvey will still be heavily involved in the baseball decision-making process. But Falvey thinks Jeremy Zoll is ready and has been handling many of the same duties already during 5 years as #MNTwins assistant GM.https://t.co/yCZBCqsdSh
