MLB Network to Be Offered Directly to Consumers

At long last, Major League Baseball is finally offering the MLB Network directly to consumers as a standalone offering. MLB Network has offered baseball fans everything they have wanted since it launched in 2009. Now, it has never been easier to enjoy the Emmy Award-winning network. Starting today, the network is available directly to fans in the United States.

How to Watch Through Streaming

  • Now available for purchase as a standalone offering for $5.99/per month.
  • There is now also a combined “MLB Network + At Bat” option for $6.99/per month. This product offers all of MLB Network’s 24/7 content, plus every feature of the MLB At Bat subscription, including live game audio for all 30 MLB teams, live Minor League Baseball games and access to MLB Big Inning.
  • Current and future paid subscribers of MLB.TV’s all-teams package and single-team package in the United States can stream MLB Network for the remainder of the 2024 season.
  • And for the 10th consecutive year, fans who receive MLB Network from a participating pay TV partner can watch via an authenticated stream.

“As the way viewers consume content continues to evolve, we are excited for baseball fans to have this new option to experience MLB Network through direct-to-consumer streaming,” said Bill Morningstar, President of MLB Network. “Going this direction allows us to significantly expand our reach to fans and gives them more choices on how they want to watch the Network’s Emmy Award-winning coverage. With the season approaching the trade deadline, pennant chases and Postseason, MLB Network will provide the most extensive baseball coverage and analysis available anywhere for our viewers.”

The announcement certainly could not come at a better time. The network’s reach has been impacted by not reaching an agreement with YouTube TV before the 2023 season. While select programming has been made available for live coverage through the app, the same cannot be said for everything that they have to offer. Several documentaries become available on the app months after they premiere. The most recent documentary to have premiered is on Hall of Fame third baseman George Brett.

What’s Coming Up

In addition to coverage of wall-to-wall live games, the network is home to the MLB Network Showcase. It returns Monday, July 29, featuring the New York Yankees at the Philadelphia Phillies. The seven-time Emmy-winning MLB Tonight airs every night from Studio 3 and the iconic Studio 42. Other studio programs include MLB CentralHigh HeatMLB NowOff BaseIntentional TalkQuick PitchBig Inning, Hot Stove, and Play Ball. The documentary series, MLB Network Presents, returns in August with a documentary on Hall of Famer Greg Maddux.

July 30’s trade deadline will see over 12 straight hours of coverage, beginning at 9 AM
