MLB Announces Spring Breakout Prospect Showcase for 2024

For years, if you wanted to see a team’s top prospects in action during Spring Training, you only had two options. You could watch team workouts from the backfield or wait until the later innings of a game when the starters are pulled. This year, the MLB is giving fans another way to watch the league’s top prospects with the inaugural Spring Breakout.

The MLB Spring Breakout will be a four-day event showcasing each team’s top prospects and minor league stars. The inaugural event will take place during Spring Training from March 14th to 17th at Grapefruit and Cactus League stadiums. Spring Breakout will feature 16 exhibition games played between teams of the top 20-25 prospects from each MLB organization. During Spring Breakout, 28 teams will play one exhibition, while one Arizona team and one Florida team play two games. This ensures that each of the 30 MLB clubs play at least one seven-inning exhibition.
