Los Angeles Dodgers 2020 NLCS MVP Justin Turner recently just turned 39 years old. Last season, he signed a two-year deal with the Boston Red Sox. In his contract, he would have a player option in 2024 which he opted out of this offseason. After a bounce-back season in 2023, Turner has signed a … deal with the … Even in his late thirties, during the 2023 season, he recorded a career-high in games played, hits, and runs batted in. Justin will most likely fill the designated hitter role for his new team. He will hope to turn back the hands of time once more and have an efficient 2024 season.

Justin Turner is Staying in the AL East
With the Red Sox last season, Justin ripped fifteen of his 23 home runs off of fastballs. He rarely hit extra bases opposite field, as he knocked only one double and two home runs to right field. In the infield, Justin Turner played only 131 innings out in the field. He had one of his most effective seasons defensively having a fielding percentage of .980, but that’s also because his 131 innings in the infield is the least he’s played in recent years.
Turner’s Career and 2023 Stats
Last season in 146 games played and in 558 at-bats, Turner recorded 154 hits, 23 home runs, 96 runs batted in, and four stolen bases with a .276 batting average. His best game of the season was on June 16th in a 15-5 win over the New York Yankees. Justin Turner went three for five with two home runs and six runs batted in. In the 2020 National League Championship Series game with the Dodgers, Turner had seven hits in 25 at-bats. He drove home six runs and had a home run. Los Angeles would defeat the Atlanta Braves in seven games to advance to the World Series. Justin would win the 2020 NLCS MVP Award. The Dodgers would go on and defeat the Tampa Bay Rays in six games to become World Series champions for the first time since 1988.
Turner is also the winner of the 2022 Roberto Clemente Award. The 39-year-old is a two-time All-Star with both of those times coming as a member of the Dodgers and New York Mets. He was selected in the seventh round of 2006 MLB Draft and made his debut in September of 2009.
