Spencer’s Best Bets for Baseball: July 30th

The Best Bets series is finally catching fire again! Three straight days of profit, including a full slate sweep on Friday. Let’s keep things up and close out July in style!

Merril Kelly gave us a run for our money in yesterday’s first play. By the close of the first half of the first frame, he had thrown over 40 pitches, given up two runs, and only collected one punch-out. Somehow, someway, Kelly caught fire in the next four innings. Striking out five of the remaining 16 batters he faced, he only used 50 pitches to do so—a herculean effort from the wily vet. Our second main play of the day was much more stress-free. As predicted, the Baltimore Orioles offense was too much for Luis Severino to handle. Tacking on seven runs in the first inning alone and cruising to a 9-3 first-five victory.

On to Today’s Best Bets!

Guardians @ Astros

For the first play of the day, we travel to the sovereign nation of Texas for a matchup between the Cleveland Guardians and Houston Astros. Cleveland’s newest signing, Noah Syndergaard, will debut and face off against the rookie J.P. France. Pretty simple formula in this one, France doesn’t strike many guys out, and the Guardians don’t strike out often.

The pick: J.P. France Under 3.5 Ks (-102) 1U

Yordan Alvarez 1+ RBI (+110) 0.5U

Angels @ Braves

In today’s second play, we are rolling with the hot hand. The Atlanta Braves are fresh off a three-game sweep of the Milwaukee Brewers. Each of these three games blew past the run total set for them, which was much of the offense coming in the first half. The Braves put up five, nine, and six runs on their own in the first half of their past three games. I like this trend to continue against Griffin Canning and the Los Angeles Angels.

The Pick: Angles @ Braves Over 5.5 F5 Runs (-108) 1U

Additional Best Bets

YRFI Parlay: Angels @ Braves & Red Sox @ Mariners (+231) 0.25U

Mastaka Yoshida & Gunnar Henderson 1+ Hits (-102) 0.25U
