Mike Trout spent his entire Major League Baseball career with the Los Angeles Angels. Trout is undeniably one of the best sluggers in the league. He’s a 12-Time All-Star and a veteran that many players look up to. The Angels superstar is loyal to his team and most likely wants to finish his career in Anaheim. Yet, despite being one of the best players in the game, he’s missing out on the biggest dream, which is winning the World Series.
Phillies Urged to Acquire Mike Trout for One Key Reason
Mike Trout has never appeared in a World Series. Throughout his 16-year career, the closest he’s ever been was in the ALDS in 2014. Sadly, the Angels lost to the Kansas City Royals and have not returned to the postseason since. The franchise is enduring a lengthy playoff drought, and things are not getting any better.
Trout’s injuries have been another reason for his struggles, but he remains a bright spot for the team. While trade rumors have always been on and off with Trout, this time, the Philadelphia Phillies are urged to pursue the slugger.
Adam Schein Shares One Reason Why the Phillies Must Trade for Mike Trout
Well-known MLB reporter Adam Schein stated one reason why the Phillies must trade for Trout. Schein criticized the Angels and their ownership while he described Trout’s situation. The reporter believes that not many teams will be lined up for Trout if the Angels decide to trade him.
“Free Mike Trout!”@adamschein says there is one team and one team only that Mike Trout should waive his no-trade for.

Trout’s injuries have been a black mark on his career. Angels fans always wish for him to stay healthy throughout the season. Although he’s one of the best players, clubs are aware of his consistent injury patterns.
The Phillies are seeking to add a player or two before the trade deadline. Adolis Garcia’s season-ending injury leaves the spot open for another veteran. Trout will be an incredible addition to the team, especially since the Phillies have Justin Crawford and Derek Hill filling in temporarily.
Can the Phillies Really Trade for Mike Trout?
Schein might be urging the Phillies to trade for Trout, but in reality, it’s Trout who holds the reins. The idea of a trade emerged when Trout attended the 2026 MLB Home Run Derby in Philadelphia.
Trout earlier mentioned that he never wanted to leave Anaheim. It’s worth noting that he has a no-trade clause, but he recently hinted that he loves Philly and it’s his decision if he wants to be traded or not.
“I love Philly”
🔔 Mike Trout repeatedly asked about a potential trade to the Phillies & waiving no-trade clause
“I didn’t think I was going to hear this question… I enjoy coming to Philly. I’m an Angel. I got a no-trade clause. So, it’s ultimately my decision… I love Philly” pic.twitter.com/VwwY2J5YC3

The Phillies are capable of pulling off a huge trade for Trout, but it seems unlikely that it would happen right now. Trout will become a free agent in 2030. At that time, he will be 38. The chances of winning a World Series with the Angels are currently out of reach. The only way to win is by opting for a trade. That could be the only reason that pushes Mike Trout out of Anaheim.
