Crowing the Plate Podcast: MLB Trade Deadline Winners and Losers

The MLB Trade Deadline has come and gone. Plenty of expensive relief pitches were sent shuffling around the big leagues, as well as a couple of position players. It was a tame deadline by some standards, but a few teams got plenty better. Joe Hojnacki and Greg Hessen pick out their winners and losers.

Before that, Bob Davidson ejected a fan for repeatedly shouting “You suck!” at visiting players. This heckler was pretty tame and didn’t deserve to be ejected, but what is the point of heckling anyway? Also, Joey Votto had a frustrating interaction with a Reds fan over a foul ball.

Finally, a lot of sad news as Trevor Story is out for the year, Yasiel Puig gets sent down to the minors, and Alex Rodriguez may get released before the end 0f the season. The A-Rod news kicks off a classic Joe vs. Greg steroid debate that should never be missed.
