The Iowa Barnstormers will welcome in a winless Green Bay Blizzard team to Wells Fargo Arena this Saturday that won’t be the most familiar.

Sure, the two teams have loads of matchups against each other over the years and are probably as familiar with one another as they can be. However, Green Bay has a new coach in Corey Roberson.

After an 0-5 start, the Blizzard fired head coach Chris Williams, bringing in Roberson to be his replacement.

Since then, the team has gone under a massive transportation, leading the Indoor Football League (IFL) in transactions over the period of time.

“They look like they looked every other game,” linebacker Zack Allen said. “They looked the same in their one game last weekend then they did in the last five.”

In the month of April alone, Green Bay has signed or released a total of seven different quarterbacks according to the IFL’s transaction page.

However, Allen said Iowa is preparing like always.

“We are just preparing like we’re playing any other quarterback,” Allen said. “We’ll play our defensive style like always.”

Iowa faced Green Bay once already this season, defeating the Blizzard 41-20 on the road in the first week of the season.

Bryce Enyard, who leads the IFL with five interceptions in 2018, earned his first pick in that first game.

“I can’t take all the credit. Our D- line has been doing a phenomenal job putting the pressure on the quarterback. Zack Allen has done a great job leading the defense. Coach Coleman [too]. There’s a lot of credit going around for my success this season.”

Enyard stressed that Green Bay is still a professional team, and they’re expecting a good game this weekend.

“We’re still expecting a grown man team to come out here,” Enyard said. “So we cant come out here and take them lightly, despite what their record is. We still have to go out and play Barnstormers football.”

Iowa has won each of the past five meetings with Green Bay and they have every reason to overlook the Blizzard, considering a meeting with the Sioux Falls Storm looms next week.

However, that’s not how Dixie Wooten’s team’s do it.

“Our motto is to go 1-0 regardless of who we’re playing and what they’re record is,” Allen said.

The 4-2 Barnstormers take on the winless Green Bay Blizzard this Saturday at Wells Fargo Arena. The game kicks off at 7:05 p.m. and will be live streamed on YouTube.
