Top Betting Lines for Sunday’s NFL Action

With many people still sitting at home and gambling being legalized in many more states, betting on sports is becoming more and more popular. That goes two-fold for the nation’s most popular sports league: the NFL. Every Sunday, millions of Americans are checking betting lines and following scores. This weekend will be no different. There are a handful of lines that are certainly intriguing for anyone looking to put some money on this Sunday’s action.

Lions (+120) at Falcons

The 2-3 Detroit Lions are currently the underdogs against the 1-5 Atlanta Falcons. To be fair, Atlanta did look greatly improved last week after firing their head coach Dan Quinn the week before. However, the Lions still look like the more talented team. Between quarterback Matthew Stafford, a loaded backfield consisting of Adrian Peterson, D’Andre Swift, and Kerryon Johnson, and a receding core of Kenny Golladay, Danny Amendola, and Marvin Hall, this Lions offense is something that can be a legitimate threat no matter who they are facing. The defensive side of the ball is the bigger issue for Detroit, so expect a shootout in this one.

The Lions should be the early favorites in this one based purely on talent. However, at the moment, the Falcons come in as the betting favorite, largely due to that impressive showing against the Minnesota Vikings last week. This is a line that you should most certainly take advantage of before it flips

Patriots at 49ers (+115)

This should be one of the more interesting match-ups of the week. The 3-3 San Fransisco 49ers will be playing host to the 2-3 New England Patriots in the late afternoon time slot. The 49ers were going through a rough patch after a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles and a big loss to the Miami Dolphins. However, last week, the team was able to pick up an important 24-16 win over divisional rivals, the Los Angeles Rams. This can potentially be attributed to the return of a healthy Jimmy Garoppolo, who completed 69.7% of his passes for three touchdowns and no interceptions.

On the other side, the Patriots have lost two straight. First, they dropped a game against the Kansas City Chiefs without their starting quarterback Cam Newton. Then, last week, Newton returned for the Patriots, but the team still fell to the Denver Broncos, who are having struggles of their own. The Patriots are seemingly spiraling at this point. A road win against the 49ers would be huge towards getting them back on track, but the 49ers should still be considered the favorites, despite what Vegas is currently saying.

Buccaneers (-152) at Raiders

Finally, in the primetime Sunday Night Football spot, the 4-2 Tampa Bay Buccaneers go on the road to face the 3-2 Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders are the underdogs despite coming off of a major upset of their divisional foes, the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite that big-time victory, the Raiders have not had a world-beating season.

On the other side, the Buccaneers are coming off of a 38-10 thrashing of the Green Bay Packers. The defense finally seemed to come alive. Tom Brady and company also seemed to be able to spread the ball around on offense. If they can keep that momentum, they are going to be a dangerous team and are the clear favorite in this game.
