Foster played in four games last season after a late start due to a groin injury. In his four games he had 63 attempts for only 163 yards and a 2.6 yards per carry average. This was down from his usual 4.5 yards per carry average. The Texans definitely missed a healthy Foster in 2015, as they were 15th in the league in rushing. Foster was at one point a very solid piece to the Houston offense, especially due to the Texans quarterback situations.

Despite injuries, Foster is usually able to be very productive, as he puts up solid numbers when playing more than half the season. During the past seven seasons, he has been one of the bright spots for Houston. In his seven seasons with the Texans, he was named to four Pro Bowls and holds the Texans franchise all-time rushing record with 6,472 yards. From being undrafted to playing on the practice squad to leading the NFL in rushing yards in 2010, Foster moved up quite a bit in the Texans organization before being released on March 3rd, 2016.

Foster was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico but would move to San Diego and go to high school at Mission Bay Senior High. Foster started out as a linebacker but became a running back during his junior season and never looked back. He became Mission Bay’s main running back during his junior and senior seasons. In one game, Foster rushed for 321 yards and he was named All-San Diego Western League Player of the Year. He was recruited by the University of Tennessee to play running back and he is Tennessee’s all-time leading rusher with 3,338 yards. Foster was projected to go in the fifth or sixth round but went undrafted in the 2009 NFL Draft.
