Minnesota United Preview: LA Galaxy vs. Minnesota United FC

Preview (August 11, 2018) – Many Minnesota United fans may still be coming to terms with the trade of fan-favorite Christian Ramirez. Some could say that this match against the LA Galaxy is the beginning of a new era in Loons history of sorts. Ramirez has been with the Loons throughout their home journey from NASL to the MLS.

Minnesota United Preview: At LA Galaxy

When: Saturday, August 11th, 9:30 pm CT

Where: StubHub Center, Carson, California

What to watch for:

Can Angelo Rodriguez justify the trade?

The Minnesota United fanbase was quite upset with the trade of Christian Ramirez midweek. Some may blame the signing of Rodriguez as the reason for Ramirez’s departure. Regardless the majority of the fanbase is expecting Rodriguez to perform up to his Designated Player status. Will he perform under the pressure?

Will Romario Ibarra get the start?

This may be getting a little redundant but Romario should be getting more minutes. He should get the start to see what he can do from the start. He may not have a lot of experience in the wing-back role but he has the pace to make up make up for some mistakes. His ability going forward should make his case for a starting spot.

How will the Loons handle Zlatan?

The Loons have not faced a striker like Zlatan Ibrahimovic this season. The MNUFC backline has had an up and down season. They will have to be on top of their game to keep him off the scoresheet. Although the Loons have seemed to sort out their set-piece problem from earlier in the season, Zlatan might pose a problem with his size.
