The first half was not too exciting. Danny Barrera and Caesar led the way for Sacramento, combining and creating chances. Bradford Jamieson IX led the Galaxy attack, combining through the middle. He and Garcia sent several crosses into the box, but could not connect. The Galaxy attack was stagnant at times, having trouble getting up the field quickly.

The half ended 0-0.

Ariel Lassiter stepped up to take it and fired it top corner past Newton. The Galaxy were ahead 1-0 in the 47th minute.

Just two minutes later the Galaxy made it dos a cero. They won the ball in midfield off a goal kick then Jaimeson picked up speed. He dribbled through the Republic defense then slotted a ball inside the near post past Newton.

The two teams traded chances in the final 30 minutes, but neither could convert. Substitute Jose Villarreal led the way for the Galaxy. There were shouts for a PK late as McInerny appeared to be taken down right in front of goal, but no foul was called. The match ended 2-0.
