Rush notes that he wants to be there for his family and that he will complete his New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) obligations once he heals and then will officially retire.

Lio Rush had one of the more impressive years since being released from WWE in 2020. He has appeared in NJPW, AEW, MLW, GCW, and other independent wrestling promotions has he reminded many why he was so special. “The Man of the Hour” debuted for NJPW in the 2020 Super J Cup, losing to eventual winner El Phantasmo. Rush notes in his announcement that he was going to potentially be the first wrestler signed to two major pro wrestling companies at the same time as AEW offered him a deal following his appearance as the Joker in the Casino Battle Royale at Double or Nothing and he was already signed to NJPW. During his time in MLW, he held the MLW Middleweight Championship, which he lost to Myron Reed in May.
Rush finished his message by thanking the fans and noting that he will see everyone soon, seemingly as he prepares to complete his NJPW dates.
We wish Rush nothing but the best in his future.
