BREAKING: AAA Strips Sexy Star of Reina De Reinas Title

Just under one hour ago, AAA announced that the Reina De Reinas Championship was declared vacant and that on October 1 at their next major event, Héroes Inmortales XIthere will be a 5-woman match-up to determine the new Reina De Reinas Champion.

Interestingly enough, the match does not feature Sexy Star, the woman who had the title stripped off of her.

One would have to assume this is a direct result of Sexy Star’s actions at last weekend’s Triplemania XXV and the injury she caused to GFW’s Rosemary. While both Rosemary and Sexy Star have now given their sides, as well as Rosemary’s home promotion, Global Force Wrestling, chiming in, it would seem that AAA has finally given their answer to the question: “What will AAA do about this?”

It was the only real option left for Vampiro – the Head of Talent for both Lucha Underground and AAA – who himself has taken a bit of a knock after stripping the previous (and popular) champion, Taya Valkyrie, amidst her second reign as Champion – her first reign was a whopping 945 days. Sexy Star won the title in her shocking return to the company on July 16 of this year and had held the belt for 44 days until today, which incidentally was also the day Sexy Star finally gave her side of the entire incident. The Reina De Reinas has taken a bit of a hit the past few months, but they’ve got five solid contenders in the match for October 1 – here’s hoping the title gets back on track to its former prestige.
