On Sunday night, former WWE Superstar Rusev – who is now going simply by Miro now (a short form of his real name, Miroslav Barnyashev) – revealed on his Social Media that he has tested positive for COVID-19. The news comes soon after his real-life wife and current WWE Superstar Lana revealed that both her parents were COVID positive and that her mother had spent time in the ICU to fight the virus.

“So I can tell you I have COVID, I tested positive,” he said in the nearly six-minute video, that also updated on the recovery of his parents-in-law. “But the weirdest thing is, I feel great though. Like, I understand that people get hit differently. And I did lose my sense of smell and taste. And now, looking back at it, maybe I was a little tired for a couple of afternoons. But I thought, you know, just working out and stuff gets you tired, but I should have known. Not that I should have known, I suspected something and then I went and got tested, and it turns out that I’m positive.” Miro remained in great spirits throughout the video and was eager to begin preparing to fight the virus and make a successful recovery.
Miro has long been rumored to be potentially joining IMPACT Wrestling as one of the free agents arriving around this weekend’s Slammiversary, but if he was, it’ll be on hold until he is cleared by doctors.
