England’s Benji Announces Retirement

Benji

Some sad news has emerged from the north-east English wrestling scene this morning, as Benji announced his retirement from the ring on his Twitter, bringing a culmination to his three-year career.

After being trained by Rampage Brown, HT Drake, and Screwface, Benji would go on to become a household name all across the north-east of England, primarily wrestling for the likes of Three Count Wrestling (3CW), NORTH Wrestling, and Main Event Wrestling (MEW). Benji always strived to be as diverse as possible, which was crystal clear when performing for different companies. On 3CW shows, he’d be coming down the aisle as part of the jock group Ace Athletic, whereas on NORTH events, he would be found alongside Landed Gentry partner Zeo Knox as a mallet-wielding Tory.

The north-east star grew in popularity upon making his debut for the now-defunct Defiant Wrestling promotion in December 2018, with fans clamouring to see him take the Internet Championship from Martin Kirby. While he didn’t quite get his hands on singles gold, Benji would go on to lift the Magnificent Seven briefcase the following March, which he cashed in at Built to Destroy, the final Defiant event. Alongside Visage, the duo became the final Defiant Tag Team Champions by dethroning The South-Coast Connection (Ashley Dunn and Kelly Sixx) in a high-octane Ladder Match.

Fans and wrestlers alike have been sending their best wishes to Benji as he now embarks on his new life as a retired professional wrestler.
