Reports: Bar Wrestling Closes Down, IMPACT Finished with Joey Ryan

Following multiple allegations of sexual misconduct over the past several days, reports are coming in that Joey Ryan’s career has effectively been halted. Joey Ryan has since deleted his Twitter account as well as that of Bar Wrestling, the California-based promotion that Joey Ryan has run since 2017. According to a report from SoCal Uncensored, “several people that regularly work for Bar Wrestling have confirmed to SoCalUncensored.com that the promotion is done” and that” the Bootleg Theater, the home of Bar Wrestling in Los Angeles, ended their relationship with the promotion on Sunday due to the allegations.” They also went on to note that Highspots Network, the on-line streaming home of Bar Wrestling, has removed Bar Wrestling’s content from their platform.

As for Ryan’s work with IMPACT Wrestling, whom he returned to in October of 2019, PWInsider’s Mike Johnson filed a report on Sunday that Joey Ryan will not be returning to the company for the next set of tapings and the impression he got was that he was now officially done with the company. IMPACT sent out a statement to multiple outlets on their investigations on allegations against Joey Ryan as well as former oVe member Dave Crist, stating that “It is a core value of the Anthem organization that we conduct our business with respect and integrity, providing a safe and secure work environment for our employees and performers. We are following carefully the various allegations being made through social media, and are reviewing all incidents involving Impact Wrestling talent and personnel to determine an appropriate course of action.”
