Jon Moxley vs Brian Cage Announced for AEW Fyter Fest 2020

During the media scrum following All Elite Wrestling‘s Double or Nothing on Saturday night, AEW President and owner Tony Khan revealed that former IMPACT World Champion Brian Cagewho debuted at the event and won the Casino Ladder Match for a shot at the AEW World title – would get his opportunity at the next AEW special event, the returning Fyter Fest. He also revealed that Cage in fact signed with AEW this past January, as we previously reported, and that he had been paid during the pandemic while he recuperated from injuries. It appears Fyter Fest 2020 was originally scheduled to take place in London, England this year for the company’s United Kingdom debut, but the current pandemic halted those initial plans. More details for Fyter Fest 2020 will be announced this Wednesday on AEW Dynamite, hopefully revealing the date of the event.

Barring any matches on AEW television leading up to Fyter Fest, this will be Jon Moxley‘s third World title defense since winning the AEW World Championship from Chris Jericho at AEW Revolution in Chicago this past February. On April 15, he defended the title against The Inner Circle‘s Jake Hager on AEW Dynamite, and on Saturday, he defended it against The Dark Order‘s Brodie Lee. This will be the first time that Brian Cage and Jon Moxley have faced each other in their careers.
