ICW New York Reveals Early Matches for #WrestleManiaWeek

New York City’s Impact Championship Wrestling (ICW New York) is heading to WrestleMania Week with No Holds Barred, Volume 3, the third instalment of their new series, which features No Submissions, No DQ, No Holds Barred for every match on the card. The event, held April 2, 2020 at the 81Bay Brewing Company in Tampa, Florida, will air live on IndependentWrestling.tv. We’re still a few months away, but they’ve already announced three huge match-ups.

Amazing Red vs Tessa Blanchard

Amazing Red has had a career resurgence in the past year since he retired. Last WrestleMania Week, the US indie pioneer and former 3x IMPACT X-Division Champion abruptly retired from the industry, selling his own indie promotion, House of Glory, to Master P. Since then, he’s had classics with Will Ospreay and worked for NJPW and is heading back to Ring of Honor, amongst other high profile match-ups. This WrestleMania Week he’s returning to ICW New York to face one of the hottest wrestlers of 2020 so far, in IMPACT World Champion Tessa Blanchard. Tessa Blanchard always rises to the occasion in intergender match-ups, and this one should be another classic.

Nick Gage vs Low Ki

At the first No Holds Barred in January, Nick Gage was defeated by Tessa Blanchard, while Low Ki gained a victory over Japan’s Masashi Takeda. But it was the challenge laid down at the end of the night that got all the attention. Nick Gage wanted Low Ki. In a surprise, in over 20 years experience each, in and around the New Jersey scene, these two veterans have yet to face each other. But it’s a go now, as the two veterans will now go head to head in a match that caters to Gage’s mentality.

Masashi Takeda vs Chris Dickinson

Another first time match-up, despite both men working shows together, from Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) to ICW New York. But both men are very aware of each other’s abilities and capabilities and are peers in nearly every sense of the word. Takeda, 34 years old, has become one of Japan’s toughest deathmatch specialists, working with Big Japan Wrestling (BJW), FREEDOMS, and GCW. A 2x King of FREEDOMS Champion and BJW Deathmatch Champion, Takeda has shown he’ll go toe-to-toe with anyone in the world. Much of the same can be said about 32-year old Chris Dickinson, who has had the best year of his career in 2019 and is set to be a premier main event in the US in 2020. A breakout star as one of the main faces of Beyond Wrestling, not to mention his work with GCW and elsewhere, Dickinson is as tough as they come right now. This will be a hellacious superfight.
