According to SoCal Uncensored and Last Word On Pro Wrestling sources, Brian Cage has signed with All Elite Wrestling and will be announced by the promotion soon. LWOPW sources say that Cage may be introduced as soon as The Chris Jericho Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rage At Sea: Part Deux Cruise as a special guest. They would then announce his signing on an episode of AEW Dynamite from recorded the cruise.
Cage had a scheduled match at IMPACT Wrestling’s Hard To Kill against Rob Van Dam. The match did not officially begin as Cage was ambushed by the girlfriend of Katie Forbes who was sitting at ringside. RVD took advantage and dove from the top rope onto Cage’s arm, taking him out. The injured Cage could offer very little offense against RVD. Before all was said and done, RVD delivered a nasty kick to Cage which bloodied the mouth of the Machine. With the help of Forbes, a Van Terminator was delivered to Brian Cage, essentially taking him out of the match.
Cage defeated Matt Sydal to become the X-Division title at Slammiversary XVI on July 22nd, 2018. In November of 2018 during an episode of IMPACT Wrestling, Cage would invoke Option C to challenge for the IMPACT Wrestling World Championship against Johnny Impact. Cage would challenge Johnny at Homecoming on January 6th, 2019, though he would come up short in this encounter. He would finally achieve the pinnacle and win the IMPACT Wrestling World Championship at Rebellion on April 28th, 2019.
Cage would suffer a back injury during this match and would deal with said injury for the next few months. He would successfully defend his title against challengers like Michael Elgin, JT Dunn, and Sami Callihan. It would be Callihan who would unseat Brain Cage on the very first episode of IMPACT on AXS TV. Cage, who may very well be a machine, comes to All Elite Wrestling with size and power and agility the likes we may have never seen.
