Report: Mercedes Martinez Signs With WWE

Despite appearing for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) twice in 2019, at AEW All Out in the Women’s Casino Battle Royale and then on AEW Dark alongside Big Swole against Sadie Gibbs & Allie, a new report from SoCal Uncensored has uncovered that Mercedes Martinez has signed with the WWE and will report to Orlando as part of the Winter Class at the WWE Performance Center.

Mercedes Martinez is one of the pioneers of the rise of women’s wrestling in the indie scene, debuting in 2000 and working with everyone from SHIMMER to Shine Wrestling, Pro Wrestling EVE to Women Superstars Uncensored (WSU), and multiple other promotions like Beyond Wrestling, RISE Wrestling, and many more. She has appeared at both WWE Mae Young Classics, which saw Mercedes have arguably the match of the tournament last year when she faced joshi legend Meiko Satomura. Last year she also had a MOTY candidate when she faced David Starr in the second season of Beyond Uncharted Territory. She also set a record with Tessa Blanchard in 2018 with the longest women’s match in pro wrestling history.
