With Game Changer Wrestling’s Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 2 fast approaching its September 14 event date, GCW and Josh Barnett have been busy announcing the combatants for the card. The first announcement was the main event, of former UFC Heavyweight Champion Josh Barnett vs. AEW and NJPW star Jon Moxley, followed by IMPACT Wrestling‘s Killer Kross, and NWA World Women’s Champion Allysin Kay. Since then, we’ve seen a flurry of new names added every few days, including a Pancrase MMA legend, and now two more names have been announced, including an unusual selection (if you’re just a WWE fan).

Best known to most wrestling fans as WWE Superstar Santino Marella, this Canadian grappler is best known for his comedic work. But don’t let his adorable accent and antics fool you – the man behind the gimmick is a capable technician. Trained in Japan at the original BattleArts by legendary Japanese wrestler Yuki Ishikawa, he was also dabbling in MMA when he became a Superstar out of obscurity with WWE in the 2000s. A World-class judo fighter, Anthony Carelli will probably be the standout of the event, simply because most people will be surprised just what the Milan Miracle is actually capable of. The announcement comes just weeks after it was announced Carelli was returning to Japan to compete for DDT Pro. Oddly enough, in his early Ohio Valley Wrestling days in WWE developmental, Carrelli had a Russian MMA fighter gimmick, Boris Alexiev.
