MLW To Enter PPV Game with Saturday Night SuperFight

As first reported by Sports Illustrated on Friday, Major League Wrestling (MLW) is finally entering the Pay Per View game this year, starting with November 2’s Saturday Night SuperFight event, taking place at Cicero Stadium, just outside of Chicago.

“This year has been about expanding into live programming,” MLW CEO Court Bauer told SI. “The evolution of a promotion is to produce more live content, and another milestone for us is pay-per-view. And now, we’re going to get there with Saturday Night SuperFight on November 2.” MLW has had multiple live specials this year, including Fury Road and Battle Riott II, in addition to their weekly program, MLW Fusion, which airs Saturday nights on the BeIN Sports USA network. Saturday Night SuperFight will be MLW’s first foray into PPV.

Major League Wrestling (MLW) returned to the wrestling promotion game in late 2017, after its initial run from 2002 through 2004. It’s owner, Court Bauer, is a former member of WWE Creative. One of the early game changers in the indie wrestling landscape alongside Impact Wrestling/TNA, Ring of Honor, PWG, and CHIKARA, MLW stopped being a wrestling promotion and pioneered the world of wrestling podcasts. But it returned in October of 2017 and has been going strong ever since, establishing itself with top stars like current MLW World Champion “Filthy” Tom Lawlor, Low Ki, and the New Hart Foundation, featuring Teddy Hart, Davey Boy Smith Jr., and Brian Pillman Jr.
