Robert “RD” Evans, the WWE Creative member who left the WWE after this year’s Hall of Fame after the induction speech he worked on with Bret “Hitman” Hart – which featured the use of Vince McMahon‘s name, a company “no-no” – caused a ruckus backstage, released a video on his Twitter account on Tuesday night that (slightly) announced his return to the indie circuit after an absence of more than three years.

Originally from Canada, Evans moved to Texas in the mid-2000s to train and work in the Texas indie scene, working with Arlington’s Professional Championship Wrestling (PCW) and Austin’s Anarchy Championship Wrestling (ACW).
In 2010, he began working with CHIKARA as Archibald Peck (after wrestling as Robert Evans since his 2004 debut), and his combination of psychology, athleticism and comedic timing made him a star (he also briefly used the gimmick Mixed Martial Archie). He also made his debut with Beyond Wrestling that year as well, although he competed as RD Evans.
In 2013, as RD Evans, he made his Ring of Honor debut, and worked with ROH for two years, alongside a return to the Canadian indies with Alpha-1, Capital City Championship Combat (C4) and Montreal’s BATTLEWAR, as well as expanding into the Midwest scene with Absolute Intense Wrestling (AIW), All American Wrestling (AAW) and St. Louis Anarchy.
He joined the WWE in 2016 as part of the WWE Creative team, working principally on Raw, where he’s remained until his recent departure. As seen in his video, his return gimmick appears to be inspired by the man he last worked with in WWE, Bret Hart, as RD Evans is now referring to himself as “Quitman” with a logo stylized after Bret’s classic logo.
