Over the past three days, Germany’s Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw) promotion has been presenting their annual 16 Carat Gold tournament. The finals took place today, which saw the plucky underdog Lucky Kid come out victorious to the delight of many. He overcame Timothy Thatcher, Axel Dieter Jr., and Ilja Dragunov en-route to the finals, where he tapped out WALTER to win the entire tournament.

The RISE member was the people’s choice to win the tournament from the offset. Kid overcoming the destructive WALTER in the finals was the icing on the cake – the fans haven’t been taking too kindly to the behavior of the NXT UK superstar, especially since he tapped out to arch nemesis David Starr in the opening round. The referee however never saw a thing, hence why the 2010 winner of the tournament made it to the finals. The Lion’s Cage submission would ensure WALTER failed to become a two-time winner.
Congratulations @Real_Luckykid for winning #wXw16Carat! So happy for you!

What was perhaps most shocking about this is the fact that Lucky Kid didn’t have help from his SCHADENFREUDE allies. The group, which originated in England’s Fight Club: PRO promotion made their wXw debut on night two, represented by Mark Davis, Kyle Fletcher, and Chris Brookes. While he may have not joined the crusade in wXw quite yet, keep your eyes peeled on The Young Lion in the near future. Who knows what sort of carnage they could cause in wXw.
The entire 16 Carat Gold tournament will be available to watch on wXw NOW in the coming days.
