Report: Hart Foundation To Enter WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2019

PWInsider is reporting that they have confirmed that the Hart Foundation will be inducted as the tag team for the Class of 2019 for the WWE Hall of Fame. While many have been hoping a Hart Foundation induction as a stable would be a way to also get in late WWE Superstars Owen Hart and British Bulldog into the Hall of Fame, it appears that legal issues with Owen’s widow Martha Hart will still prevent Owen from being honored. According the the PWInder report, it will be the original tag team of Bret “Hitman” Hart and Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, alongside manager Jimmy Hart, who will be inducted as the Hart Foundation. It will make Bret Hart only the second wrestler to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on two occasions (after Ric Flair did as a singles and as part of the Four Horsemen), and Jimmy Hart will become the first manager to enter on two occasions.

The Hart Foundation debuted in the WWF in 1985, following Vince McMahon’s acquisition of Stu Hart’s Stampede Wrestling, with the technical Bret Hart paired with the powerhouse Jim Neidhart, and assigned “The Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart to help get them over in a hurry. The duo would become one of the greatest WWF tag teams of the 1980s, holding the WWF World Tag Team titles on two occasions, for reigns of 274 days and 209 days respectively. By 1991, the team was dissolved when Bret Hart moved on to singles competition.
