Indie Wrestler Shane Mercer Uses Bleachers As Weapon (VIDEO)

On Saturday night at an event in Chicago for The Resistance promotion called Silent Night, Deadly Night, indie wrestler Shane Mercer exercised a stunning feat of strength (and nastiness) when he used a rather unique weapon in his match. While it’s not uncommon to see people use a folded chair, garbage can lid, ladder, or table in a match, it’s not normal to see a wrestler use an entire bleachers section. But that’s exactly what Mercer did, as evidenced by the video he posted on his personal Facebook page.

The Resistance is a new hardcore promotion in the Chicago area, who held their debut event this past February. Shane Mercer is an 11-year indie veteran, best known for his lengthy tenure with IWA Mid South, where he’s a former IWA Mid South Heavyweight Champion and IWA Mid South Tag Team Champion. This past summer, he defeated IMPACT star Kongo Kong for the Juggalo Championship Wrestling (JCW) Heavyweight Championship, a title he still carries. Mercer also wrestles for the likes of EVOLVE, Absolute Intense Wrestling (AIW), Paradigm Pro Wrestling (PPW), FEST Wrestling and others, and last year appeared on NXT TV as an enhancement in a tag match against The Street Profits (under the name Riley Apex).
