At Big Japan Wrestling (BJW)‘s Ryogokutan 2018 event today in Tokyo, Japan, Big Japan ace Daisuke Sekimoto defeated Hideki Suzuki to capture his fourth BJW Strong World Heavyweight Championship in just over 15 minutes in what viewers called another classic match up.

Trained in the BJW Dojo by NJPW’s Tomoaki Honma and BJW Legend Ryuji Yamakawa, Daisuke Sekimoto has been a regular with Big Japan since his debut in 1999. In nearly 20 years, Sekimoto has been one of Big Japan’s undeniable superstars, winning his first heavyweight title in 2002. Apart from his four reigns as BJW Strong Heavyweight Champion, he’s also an 8x BJW Tag Team Champion in his time with the company.

While BJW is his primary home, Sekimoto has also worked for many of the top promotions in Japan, including All Japan (winning the 2016 Champion Carnival), Pro Wrestling NOAH, DDT Pro (where he won the KO-D Openweight Championship in 2010), and ZERO1 (winning the ZERO1 World Championship in 2010 as well). He’s also had several small runs with NJPW. This is Sekimoto’s first major singles title win since losing the same title back in March of 2017, when he lost the belt to Suzuki.
