#AndNEW: ROH Title Changes Hands at TV Tapings (SPOILER)

At the television tapings for ROH TV on Saturday, Jeff Cobb defeated Punishment Martinez to become the new Ring of Honor World Television Champion, ending Martinez’ run at 106 days amidst reports he’s now finished with ROH and may be heading to NXT.

The win marks Jeff Cobb’s first major singles championship of his career (under his own name), as he’d previously only held tag team titles. In October of last year, alongside Matt Riddle as The Chosen Bros, they captured the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) World Tag Team titles for 182 days, and just last month, he teamed with Eddie Kingston to win the All American Wrestling (AAW) Tag Team titles. It caps off a stellar year for Jeff Cobb as a singles competitor, who won his first PWG Battle of Los Angeles earlier this month. As the character Matanza Cueto, who won the Lucha Underground Championship in 2015.

Cobb debuted in ROH a few weeks ago, interrupting the Top Prospect Tournament by attacking both Eli Isom and FR Josie. He returned at Death Before Dishonor on Friday, coming to the aid of Chris Sabin in his match against Martinez, before challenging Martinez for the belt for the TV tapings on Saturday night.
