This past weekend, the pro wrestling community – especially the tough American hardcore scene – lost another member, when Nate Hatred died as a result of an automobile accident over the weekend.

A student of former ECW World Television Champion Glen Osbourne and ECW Superstar EZ Ryder, Nate Hatred made his debut in the late 90s with several underground indie promotions, such as Philadelphia’s World Wide Wrestling Alliance (WWWA). In 2000, he joined Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW), where he would spend the next decade of his career, winning the CZW Iron Man Championship early on from Wifebeater. He gained further notoriety when he formed the legendary H8 Club team alongside Nick Gage – the two terrorized CZW for years (and continued in recent times in Game Changer Wrestling (GCW)), winning the CZW World Tag Team titles on three occasions, with memorable bloody feuds with the likes of the Briscoe Brothers (Jay & Mark), BLKOUT (Ruckus & Sabian), and The Best Around (Bruce Maxwell & TJ Cannon). The H8 Club occasionally united with others in larger battles, partnering with the likes of Man Man Pondo and Jon Moxley (WWE’s Dean Ambrose).
A consummate professional in and out of the ring, Nate Hatred helped many young wrestlers learn the ropes, as CZW became a hotbed for training emerging stars in the indie scene in the early 2000s. One such wrestler was WWE Superstar Drew Gulak, who wrote the words HATRED on his wraps this past Monday on RAW in tribute to his fallen mentor.
