Just half an hour after South African star Angelico announced he was departing Lucha Underground, one of his tag team partners, Jack Evans, announced he too had left the show.

When asked if he was in the upcoming fourth season, Evans confirmed he is in it…for a bit.

When pressed for more details, Evans stated the reason he left was being lied to about a contract, but the final straw was an argument he had with another member of the show, Ivelisse.

Part of the last class to graduate from the famed Hart Dungeon in Calgary, Alberta, Canada (along with Teddy Hart, Tyson Kidd, Natalya and Davey Boy Smith Jr.), and starting with Stampede Wrestling, both Evans and Hart briefly appeared with Impact Wrestling in 2004 as part of Team Canada, before returning to the indies, dominating Jersey All Pro Wrestling (JAPW) as The Next Generation Hart Foundation in the mid-2000s, as well as taking the team to AAA in Mexico as The Hart Foundation 2.0. The pair recently reunited over WrestleMania weekend for the first time in six years, facing off against The Lucha Brothers (Penta El 0M & Rey Fenix) at Pancakes & Piledrivers at WrestleCon.
Jack Evans was also a member of Generation Next, the stable of young new talent that debuted in Ring of Honor in 2004 that featured Austin Aries, Roderick Strong, Matt Sydal and Alex Shelley, and in 2013, after parting ways with Teddy Hart, he became a 3x AAA World Tag Team Champion alongside Angelico. In 2015, the two joined Lucha Underground for its debut season, although the pair were split up – Angelico joined forces with Son of Havoc and Ivelisse, while Evans would eventually join up with Johnny Mundo, Taya Valkyrie and PJ Black (formerly Justin Gabriel in the WWE) in Worldwide Underground. Alongside Mundo and Black, he was a Lucha Underground Trios Champion.
It’s possible that Evans could rejoin one of his old tag team partners – either Angelico in Europe (he’s also left AAA) or Teddy Hart on his resurgence on the indie scene, while he could eye a return to Ring of Honor or Impact Wrestling. No word yet on the futures of either recently departed Lucha Underground star.
