MJF faces Brody King for the AEW World Championship at AEW Grand Slam Australia

AEW Grand Slam Australia Preview (2/14/26) – MJF Defends the AEW World Championship

It’s Valentine’s Day, and you know that means AEW Grand Slam Australia. Already, with just over a week to go, we’re treated to a stacked and jacked card with huge implications for the AEW landscape. Three title matches, stakes for AEW Revolution, and the return of two homegrown wrestlers.

It’s very fitting for this day of love, we’re treated to the platonic, yet sapphic undertones of the Babes of Wrath. Harley Cameron at last year’s Grand Slam Australia failed to capture the TBS Championship from Mercedes Mone. This year, can she and Willow Nightingale accomplish what seems like an impossible task? A victory over The Megasus, Megan Bayne, to defend their AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships.

Elsewhere, we have the potential budding relationship between “Timeless” Toni Storm and Orange Cassidy. Storm is no stranger to going down under. The beloved Australian icon is ready to get rough and dirty against Marina Sharif and Wheeler Yuta. Storm is hardcore and is ready to trim the bush that is Wheeler Yuta’s mop, or Sharif’s braids. Already, I’ve got KC and the Sunshine Band and the tune to “Give It Up” in my head.

“Wheeler’s going bald, going bald, Wheeler’s going bald!”

AEW Revolution Challenger

Denied a rematch between two of the greatest friends/rivals in AEW history, Andrade El Idolo is seeking to go all the way to AEW Revolution. The Don Callis Family man has made it clear that AEW is where he wants to end his career. After two fantastic performances against Swerve Strickland and Kenny Omega- with some low-blow assistance- El Idolo faces the former AEW World Champion, Hangman Adam Page.

In a first-time contest, the stakes could not be higher. AEW World Trios Champion Adam Page is laser-focused on reclaiming his championship. Yet with Andrade’s unwillingness to hit below the belt and Don Callis potentially at ringside, the odds are against the cowboy. However, when has that ever stopped Cowboy Shi#t getting done?

With the potential to steal the show, this could be the match of the night. Plus, there’s the possible fallout and Page’s further involvement in the web of the Don Callis Family business!

MJF vs Brody King

In the main event, Page’s mirror opposite and day one rival, MJF, defends against Brody King. MJF can run his mouth. Call King homeless. Make claims about what he will do to the former Hound of Hell, but as seen on the Dynamite, this dog has plenty of bite. Earning himself an AEW World Championship shot, the man who chooses violence as a means of change hopes to achieve what tag partner Bandido was unable to do.

However, a prior victory will be enough. MJF had the Eliminator stipulation on his side. A loss means only a rematch. The opportunity to reflect and develop a game plan. Knowing what King can do. When the championship is on the line, that is when The Salt of the Earth is at his most dangerous. MJF knows how to bite, and he’s likely going for the throat.
