AJPW Triple Crown Champ Joe Doering To Face Moose at Impact One Night Only Taping (Non-Title)

This Saturday March 3 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, Impact Wrestling is partnering with Border City Wrestling for a special taping for the Impact PPV One Night Only: March Breakdown, in an event that will see such matches as Austin Aries & Alberto El Patron vs. Kongo Kong & RJ City in the main event, plus Braxton Sutter & KC Spinelli vs. Allie & former Impact Team Canada member A1, plus matches with Matt Sydal, Eli Drake, and the debut of new Impact faction Desi Hit Squad. But BCW just announced a special match up that will see All Japan Triple Crown Champion Joe Doering facing off against “Mr. Impact Wrestling” Moose in a non-title match.

Ironically, the only time the AJPW Triple Crown was defended outside of Japan was in BCW, during Doering’s first Triple Crown reign. Doering defended the Triple Crown against current WWE Superstar Rhyno at BCW Excellence ’14. Doering, who came back from beating brain cancer to win the Triple Crown last October, was also Triple Crown champion for 160 days between 2014 and 2015. Doering’s two reigns puts him tied with Vader and Gordy, but two behind Stan Hansen‘s four.

Former Impact Knockouts Champion Sienna was originally scheduled for the event, but had to pull out due to injury. They were quick to announcer her replacement in 5x Knockouts Champion, Madison Rayne.
