This past Saturday in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, at Quebec’s Northern Championship Wrestling (nCw) and Ottawa’s C4‘s joint promotion Femme Fatales 20, Vanessa Kraven defeated Mercedes Martinez to end her 294 day reign as nCw Femme Fatales International Champion.
So @MtKraven pinning @RealMMartinez to win the @FemmesFatales20 Championship was one of the loudest pops I’ve ever heard from Ottawa. An amazing show from beginning to end. And hopefully they’re just getting started. pic.twitter.com/ShZsFdfj21

Vanessa Kraven Wins nCw Femme Fatales Championship
Vanessa Kraven has tasted gold in nCw previously, winning the now defunct nCw Feminin Championship back in 2005, the precursor to the newer Femme Fatales International title. She’s also a former SHIMMER Tag Team Champion alongside Tessa Blanchard in Mount Tessa. The following night, she appeared for Smash Wrestling in Toronto, joining her new faction alongside Smash Champion “The Beast King” Franky TM and Super Smash Brothers.

It marks the third major championship that Mercedes Martinez has lost in the past few months, including the WXW Women’s Champion (October 2017, after 371 days) and the SHIMMER Championship in November (364 days). Following an impressive showing at last year’s WWE Mae Young Classic and subsequent NXT appearances, many speculated she was heading to NXT in 2018. Martinez still holds the WSU Championship (for nearly 400 days now) and is SHINE Tag Team Champion with Ivelisse.
