It’s Wednesday, and you know that means some last-minute big graphic drops with significant implications for tonight’s AEW Dynamite/Collision! Ahead of Full Fear, tonight’s three-hour edition has three additional matches with immense possibilities for the weekend and perhaps beyond.
You can find more about tonight’s card on the extended Dynamite/Collision preview here. Let’s cover what’s new and what could happen.
Casino Gauntlet Spot Matches
With the Casino Gauntlet to determine the first-ever AEW National Champion at Full Gear, it’s only fitting, and now traditional, that there would be two contests to determine entrants #1 and #2. Given that the match can stop at any time, entry does not guarantee you will make it to the ring. Having the #1 and #2 positions means you have a chance.
Fighting to be #1, Bobby Lashley gets his chance one-on-one against Ricochet. This allows the All-Mighty to get his hand on the snake who cost The Hurt Syndicate their AEW World Tag Team Championship. After months of fighting, Lashley has the chance to ensure Ricochet’s chances of a championship remain slim.
Although it may seem like a fair fight, we’ll have to see where the GOA are stationed during the match. Is Lashley going to obliterate Ricochet? Or will Ricochet get the last laugh?
Elsewhere, Speedball Mike Bailey takes on Lashley’s partner, Shelton Benjamin. In what could be a highlight reel match between two unique fan-favourites, with a possible call-back to Bailey’s Vlog, the outcome is going to set up an interesting start to the Casino Gauntlet match. All possible starting combinations will provide an interesting flavour and story opening.
Double Jeopardy, B*tch
AEW Unified Champion, Kazuchika Okada, will go one-on-one with a Mexican sensation who has stolen headlines in 2025. Although Okada was able to beat Mascara Dorada at All Out, that was a three-way match and came, as many of Okada’s victories in his AEW run, from wily, veteran opportunism.
During that match, Dorada made his prowess known not just in America but to the world on PPV. Since then, Mascara Dorada has had two blistering matches against another standout of the year, Bandido, one in ROH and one on AEW Collision. Now, putting an opportunity for the CMLL World Trios Championships on the line, you have to wonder if this match will end like Okada’s last Double Jeopardy match.
If so, then the Don Callis Family will get a chance at CMLL gold. If somehow Dorada can get the upset, then perhaps we’ll know what The Rainmaker is doing at Full Gear this weekend.
