First Look At Cody Rhodes In The Naked Gun Movie

Cody Rhodes has solidified his place as the face of WWE by leaving to film a Hollywood movie. Like Hulk Hogan, The Rock, John Cena and (ahem) The Miz before him, Rhodes will hit the big screen.

Rhodes will appear in The Naked Gun reboot set for release on August 1, 2025. This means Rhodes’s movie debut will happen on the eve of WWE SummerSlam – a show many expect him to headline.

Rhodes is the favorite to win the King of the Ring tournament which continues tonight on WWE Raw.

Cody Rhodes In The Naked Gun Trailer

In the trailer for The Naked Gun, Rhodes has his face comically disfigured when it is slammed against a bar by Liam Neeson as Frank Drebin Jr.

Fans of the original Naked Gun movies will recognise that Neeson’s character is the son of Leslie Nielsen’s former lead character. Neeson delivers many comical one liners in the trailer. He is also seen being handed a coffee through his car window whilst driving.

This reflects the movie will stick to the absurdist humour of the original Naked Gun flicks.

Pamela Anderson stars alongside Neeson as Beth. It is Anderson’s first role since she impressed alongside Dave Bautista in The Last Showgirl.

PROGRESS Wrestling Champion Also In The Naked Gun

The wrestling links to the movie don’t stop there. Current PROGRESS Wrestling Proteus Champion Paul Walter Hauser plays Ed Hocken Jr. Hauser is an established actor with roles in Cruella, BlacKkKlansman and I,Tonya.

But he has also appeared for both the WWE and AEW. Hauser is also Executive Producer of MLW. During WrestleMania Vegas weekend, he shockingly won the PROGRESS Proteus Championship.
