AEW Announces Spring Schedule Including First-Ever PPV in Philadelphia

Since AEW debuted in Philadelphia in 2019, fans have wondered when the city would get its first AEW PPV. Today, AEW announced that the time has come as Philadelphia has been chosen as the host for AEW Dynasty, set to be held on April 6, 2025. Tickets go on sale on February 3. Fans can also sign up for a pre-sale through the AEW Insider program.

Since 2019, Philadelphia’s Liacouras Center, most notably home to Temple University’s basketball team, has been AEW’s home base in the city, having hosted six events (one every year except for 2020) including tapings of Dynamite, Collision, Rampage, AEW Dark, and AEW Dark Elevation. The arena has hosted everything but a PPV to this point.

While the announcement of Dynasty was the highlight, AEW also announced its March through April schedule of live events and tapings, which can be found below:

  • Saturday, March 1: AEW Collision – Oakland Arena in Oakland, Calif.
  • Saturday, March 15: AEW Collision – The Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas
  • Wednesday, March 19: AEW Dynamite and special taping of AEW Collision – Liberty First Credit Union Arena in Omaha, Neb.
  • Wednesday, March 26: AEW Dynamite – Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul, Minn.
  • Saturday, March 29: AEW Collision – UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena in Milwaukee
  • Wednesday, April 2: AEW Dynamite and special taping of AEW Collision – Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, Ill.
  • Sunday, April 6: AEW Dynasty – Liacouras Center in Philadelphia
  • Wednesday, April 9: AEW Dynamite – Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena in Baltimore

Home to the famed 2300 Arena (ECW Arena) and the most recent host of WWE WrestleMania, Philadelphia has long been a hotbed for professional wrestling. Today, wrestling companies from the independents continue to make their home in the city, and major touring companies including TNA, New Japan Pro Wrestling, AEW, NWA, and WWE often hold shows within the city and surrounding areas. MLW even briefly held a residency in Philadelphia and continues holding several shows yearly at the 2300 Arena.

As Tony Khan remarked to the Philadelphia Inquirer, which broke the news on Wednesday, the plan is to make this year’s Dynasty better than last year’s which featured Swerve Strickland vs Samoa Joe for the AEW World Championship and a Match of the Year candidate in Will Ospreay taking on Bryan Danielson.
