WWE Raw Preview 02/06/23

WWE Monday Night Raw Preview

Monday Night Raw is live tonight from the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it would be the home base for Raw and Smackdown from August to December of 2020. It was also the primary venue used during Wrestlemania Weekend for 2017 after Wrestlemania itself took place in Camping World Stadium right by it. It was also the host building for the 2016 Royal Rumble where Triple H won the titular match and his final WWE Championship along with it. As the Royal Rumble saw Roman Reigns defend the title. It also featured the debut of AJ Styles.

Steel Cage Match, Take II

After having to shuffle things around at the Raw Is XXX edition of the show, celebrating its 30 years, but sadly running a little long on time, we attempt to have Becky Lynch vs. Bayley inside a Steel Cage again. Previously, the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Damage CTRL, attacked Becky Lynch prior to her match. Rendering her unable to compete. However, as the feud, which started all the way back in August, continued, the challenge to try it again was laid out by Becky after threatening to injure Dakota Kai. This forced Bayley to accept. Let’s see if this time we can get a proper match from the two, as well as a climax to this long-running feud.

Chamber Spots To Fill

It was announced last week on Raw that this year’s Elimination Chamber PLE will feature two of the titular matches. The first being for Austin Theory’s United States Championship. And the second to see who would challenge Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Championship at Wrestlemania.

Filling the spots for the US title match, we already saw a few qualify in the form of Johnny Gargano, Bronson Reed, and Seth Rollins. Two more spots will be filled this week as Angelo Dawkins of the Street Profits takes on Damian Priest of The Judgment Day. While the other half of the Street Profits, Montez Ford, takes on Elias.

As for the women, Raquel Rodriguez, Nikki Cross, Liv Morgan, Asuka, and Natalya have qualified over the week, as it seems we’re getting Raw and Smackdown wrestlers in the match to determine a challenger for a Raw title. The last spot is set to be filled via a 4 Way match that will feature several returns. Piper Niven and Carmella make their returns to Raw in the match as well as Michin and Candice LeRae.

Dangling Royal Rumble Threads

The feud between Bobby Lashley and Brock Lesnar seems to be set to continue. And reports suggest that Lesnar is likely to compete in both Elimination Chamber and Wrestlemania. As a small tease with Gunther also looms from the Royal Rumble, one has to wonder if Lesnar vs. Lashley III will take place sooner to make way for other plans at Wrestlemania. We also have Seth Rollins still bitter about being eliminated from the Royal Rumble by Logan Paul. Not to mention, both Royal Rumble winners are native to Raw: Rhea Ripley and Cody Rhodes. What presence will they have en route to the Elimination Chamber? We’ll have to tune into Monday Night Raw tonight to see.
