Preview: NWA Powerrr (3/1/22) – PowerrrTrip, Part 2

NWA Powerrr PowerrrTrip Part 2

On this week’s edition of NWA Powerrr, viewers will see a continuation of the PowerrrTrip event. Fans saw the first half of the action last week, including a 2 Out of 3 Falls Match and an NWA World Women’s Championship defense. This week, more gold will be on the line, including the NWA National Heavyweight Championship. For those that were unable to see PowerrrTrip live, or simply avoided spoilers up until this point, consider this show to be a special Part 2 edition. Here’s what to expect before this episode airs at 6:05 PM EST live on FITE.

NWA Powerrr (2/15/22) Full Card – PowerrrTrip, Part 2

  • Pope vs. Mike Knox
  • Kentucky Sweethearts Brawl: OGK (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) vs. The Fixers (Jay Bradley and Wrecking Ball Legursky)
  • NWA National Heavyweight Championship: Chris Adonis (c) vs. Anthony Mayweather

Pope Returns to Action at PowerrrTrip

At NWA Hard Times 2, Pope was the recipient of an attack courtesy of Mike Knox and the debuting Matt Cardona. The attack was so severe that the former World Television Champion was out of action for weeks. However, as the weeks progressed, it became evident that Pope would not only be itching to get back into the ring but target those that have wronged him. On this week’s edition of NWA Powerrr, Pope makes his in-ring return against Knox, who’s become a member of The Cardonas alongside Matt, Chelsea Green, and VSK. Though this in-ring return will be one to look forward to for the charismatic former titleholder, expect The Cardonas to be just around the corner.

The Kentucky Sweethearts Brawl

It may not be the most common term for a match type, but there are only a few things viewers should know about the Kentucky Sweethearts Brawl. It will be contested under No DQ, Falls Count Anywhere rules for starters. Furthermore, it will feature two of the top teams in the National Wrestling Alliance. Squaring off in what should be a chaotic contest will be OGK, the team of Mike Bennett and Matt Taven, and The Fixers, Jay Bradley and Wrecking Ball Legursky. On paper, it would seem that OGK has this match in the bag, given their history as former tag team champions in Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro-Wrestling. However, with the power that The Fixers possess, a victory isn’t guaranteed.

The National Heavyweight Championship is Defended on NWA Powerrr

Anthony Mayweather, the man formerly known as Crimson, is the Owner and Founder of TNT Wrestling. The reason why this is important is that PowerrrTrip is an event made possible by TNT and the NWA’s collaborative efforts. Needless to say, Mayweather would have to be involved in this event in some fashion. PowerrrTrip, Part 2 will feature him challenging “The Masterpiece” Chris Adonis for the NWA National Heavyweight Championship. Adonis held the title for over 270 days across 2 separate reigns, keeping a stranglehold on it along the way. Furthermore, Adonis is a member of Strictly Business, which has been arguably the most successful faction in recent company history. For context, at different points, the NWA World Tag Team and Worlds Heavyweight titles have been in the group. Will the National Heavyweight Champion’s power and connections be enough to overcome a game Mayweather in this upcoming title defense?
