Preview: Billie Starkz’ ‘Cosmic Christmas’ on IWTV (12/20/21)

Cosmic Christmas

The Big Starkz Brand is flourishing in 2021. On Monday night, Billie Starkz presents Cosmic Christmas on IWTV at 8pm EST, just in time for the holidays. The event itself, which also happened to be the 17th birthday of Billie Starkz, was filmed in early December, live in Jefferson, Indiana, and on Monday, December 20, it will make its broadcast premiere. Here’s a NON-SPOILER preview for the fun-looking card.

Cosmic Christmas on IWTV (12/20/21) – Full Card And Preview

The Outrunners (Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd) vs. The Original Sins (Tyler Lydol & Dick Michaels)

The Outrunners are a new tag team in the U.S. Midwest indie scene, but the two men involved are far from rookies. Truth Magnum (previously known as Shiloh Jonze) is a 13-year veteran of the likes of Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) and Ring of Honor. He is a fromer 5x OVW Tag Team Champion. His new partner, Turbo Floyd, is also a veteran of OVW. Together they’ve been making headway in the likes of IWA Mid South, OVW, and even All Elite Wrestling (AEW), where they faced The Butcher & The Blade this past September on AEW Dark: ElevationThe Original Sins tandem of Tyler Lydol & Dick Michaels has been creating their own waves in the Midwest for the past couple of years. With the likes of New Wave Pro, St. Louis Anarchy, and Asylum Wrestling Revolution (AWR), where they’re the reigning AWR Tag Team Champions.

Midwest Scramble: Adam Slade vs. Ashton Starr vs. Ben Shearin vs. Billy Tipton vs. Bradley Prescott IV vs. Cole Radrick vs. Don’t Die Miles vs. Logan James vs. Matt Diesel vs. Shawn Kemp vs. ZDP (w/ Dude Baddington)

Nothing says the Midwest like a good ol’ Scramble match. At Cosmic Christmas, there will be a fun 11-man scramble match featuring some great rising stars who have had breakout years during the pandemic era. Adam Slade and Bradley Prescott IV will be repping The Lost Boys stable in the Scramble. While Logan James is a former partner of Slade’s from The Player’s Club a few years ago. Ashton Starr is on the verge of greatness after a strong past year, that saw him appear for AEW and Game Changer Wrestling (GCW). While cementing himself as one of the top indie stars of the Southern indies. Cole Radrick has emerged as one of Indiana’s top homegrown stars. While Don’t Die Miles continues to impress on a monthly basis. A lot of hungry young talents in this one, who will all be looking to further their great 2021 runs so far.

Gary Jay vs. Sabin Gauge

St. Louis’ “Robo Ginger” Gary Jay has been a dominant force in the Midwest for nearly 20 years. He has competed for IWA Mid South, St. Louis Anarchy, ICW No Holds Barred, Black Label Pro, and many of the top U.S. indies. The current reigning and 4x SLA Gateway Heritage Champion, Gary Jay is as tough as they come inside the ring. He’s facing a rising young grappler from the Chicago scene in “The Limit Breaker” Sabin Gauge. He has been making his presence felt in hometown promotions like ZERO1 and AAW the past year. A tough test for Gauge, but all limits are made to be broken.

Dante Martin vs. Tyler Matrix

Dante Martin needs no introduction for fans of the U.S. indies or All Elite Wrestling. As one half of Top Flight with his brother Darius (formerly Air Wolf), Dante Martin was part of one of the U.S. indies’ top tag teams in 2020. An injury to Darius has propelled Dante into a singles spotlight (and a bidding war for his services in AEW), and Dante Martin has emerged as one of AEW’s top young talents. He still maintains a foothold in the indies as well, and at Cosmic Christmas, he returns to the BSB to face Alabama’s Tyler Matrix, who is a former 3x IWA Mid South World Champion.

No DQ: Mad Man Pondo vs. Big Twan Tucker

Ohio’s Big Twan Tucker was originally slated to face off against AEW’s Marko Stunt at the event. Sadly, Stunt had to pull out shortly before the event. The 23-year old student of Johnny Gargano and Candice LaRae, who has been a rising young star with his hometown Absolute Intense Wrestling (AIW), wouldn’t get off lightly though. His new opponent was announced to be none other than 30+ year hardcore/deathmatch legend Mad Man Pondo, a former IWA World Champion and one of the most violent men in wrestling history.

Marcus Mathers vs. Myron Reed

Marcus Mathers is yet another of the amazing young talents under 20-years old who have emerged in the U.S. indies the past year. He is a student of hardcore icon Matt Tremont and Hardcore Hustle Organization (H2O). In only two years, the young Mathers has become a star in his own right, competing for the likes of GCW, Violence X Suffering (VxS), Freelance Wrestling, and much more. Both in singles action and tag team matches as part of the Wasted Youth stable that also features fellow wunderkinds Dyln McKay and Austin Luke.

He’s facing one of the most gifted young stars in the U.S. independents (and has been for a while now) in Myron Reed, who has not only dominated in promotions like AAW, Rockstar Pro, Glory Pro, Paradigm Pro Wrestling (PPW), and more in his young career but for Major League Wrestling (MLW) as well, where he’s a 2x MLW World Middleweight Champion. “Hot Fire” Myron Reed is already a big-time player in the U.S. indie circuit and he’s still younger than 25.

GCW Rules: Billie Starkz vs Effy

For Billie Starkz birthday, she had one present in mind – a match with Effy. At Cosmic Christmas that becomes a reality. Despite this being her 17th birthday bash, Starkz has become one of the fastest rising stars in the U.S. indies of the past two years. With a drive and determination unparalleled, she’s become a regular with promotions around the U.S. Including the likes of GCW, PPW, F1RST Wrestling, Black Label Pro, ACTION Wrestling, H2O, and many, many more, having high profile match-ups against the likes of Jordynne Grace, Allie Katch, Masha Slamovich, Mickie Knuckles, Hyan, and many more. Women’s or intergender, nothing is off-limits for Starkz and she’s excelled in every facet of the game.

At Cosmic Christmas, she’s facing off against arguably the top U.S. indie wrestler in the game right now, Effy. Effy has dominated in his time as one of the top faces of GCW, in both singles action and as part of BUSSY with Allie Katch, and his long-standing feud with Matt Cardona has set the internet on fire (including Effy’s defeat of Cardona to claim his prized Internet title back in September).

Alice Crowley vs. Dillon McQueen vs. Skye Blue

A triple threat match featuring three more amazing young talents (notice the theme here?). Alice Crowley has been impressive since her debut in 2018. In a short span has not only won the IWA Women’s Championship but made her debut with the likes of SHIMMER as well as AEW (she competed on AEW Dark: Elevation last month). Dillon McQueen has been a regular with New South Pro Wrestling and is a student of Cody Rhodes & QT Marshall’s Nightmare Factory. He’s also made multiple appearances for AEW throughout 2021 on both AEW Dark and Dark: ElevationSkye Blue has been working the Chicago-area indies since 2017, but 2021 has definitely been her breakout year – she’s made appearances for AEW, become a regular with National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), and continues to impress in the likes of AAW, ZERO1, Warrior Wrestling, and more. Last month she defeated Allysin Kay to become the new AAW Women’s Champion. Three more outstanding talents to keep an eye on in the coming year. Asthey’ve only just begun to scratch the surface of their abilities.

Ace Perry vs. Nick Wayne

Indiana’s Ace Perry has been an underrated veteran of the Midwest, who seems to only recently be getting the accolades he’s deserved after nearly 10 years in the ring. A former IWA World Champion, Perry is currently one-half of the AAW Tag Team champions (alongside MLW World Champion Hammerstone). Ace Perry will be facing one of the Pacific Northwest’s top prodigies in Nick Wayne, who has exploded on the West Coast with GCW, West Coast Pro Wrestling, and Future Stars of Wrestling (FSW), as well as his home territory promotions like DEFY Wrestling, Without A Cause (WAC), and DOA. A third-generation grappler – his father is former WCW/WWF wrestler and trainer Buddy Wayne. While his grandfather, Ed “Moondog” Moretti, was a star in the NWA territory days with Pacific Northwest Wrestling in Portland, NWA Vancouver, and more.

No DQ: The Rejects (John Wayne Murdoch & Reed Bentley) vs. The OvaryActors (KiLynn King & Sawyer Wreck)

The Rejects – the duo of John Wayne Murdoch and Reed Bentley – have been one of the most violent tag teams of the past decade in the U.S. indie scene. They have captured tag team gold in GCW, PPW, IWA Mid-South, and most recently, Unsanctioned Pro. Individually, they are also two decorated and fierce competitors. Murdoch is the reigning ICW American Deathmatch Champion and a former 6x IWA World Champion, while Bentley is himself a 3x IWA World Champion. These two live to fight and to bleed. They issued an open challenge for Cosmic Christmas and it was answered by The OvaryActorsa duo led by one of AEW’s young stars in KiLynn King.

King has been a regular for AEW since the spring of 2020, appearing on AEW Dynamite, AEW Dark, and AEW Dark: Elevation. She made her AEW PPV debut at AEW All Out this past September as part of the Casino Battle Royale. For her partner, she chose Sawyer Wreck, who has been showing her own love for violence this past year as one of the young stars with No Peace Underground, who has picked up impressive wins over the likes of Mickie Knuckles and Kennedi Copeland. Sawyer Wreck is not one to shy away from the ultraviolence, which will be just what King needs if she’s going to face two bad dudes like The Rejects.
