The dream has come true and he has been crowned. Xavier Woods has won the 2021 King of the Ring tournament after defeating Finn Balor in the finals at Crown Jewel on Thursday. Woods hit his Tope Rope Elbow Drop on Balor to get the victory and solidify himself as the new King of WWE. This is the first King to be crowned through the tournament since Baron Corbin won the tournament in 2019.

Xavier Woods is the 22nd winner in the history of King of the Ring, following the likes of Bret Hart, Stone Cold, Booker T, and Brock Lesnar. The tournament has not been a centerpiece of WWE television over the past decade and a half as 2006, when Booker T became King Booker, was really the last time the tournament carried as much meaning as it did during the 1990s. Hopefully, with Woods as the winner, he can recapture the magic of being king.
The new King of WWE has already shown in his short time with the crown that he is going to use it to his advantage. Woods made it known following his win that he has all the power, SmackDown has officially been put on notice. With Woods in this new role as the King, it will be worth following to see if a certain “Tribal Chief” takes exception to the new King on SmackDown.
Fans can officially say it — All hail King Woods.
