#2. This Could Be the Catalyst for a Jacob Fatu Heel Turn
Jacob Fatu is one of the most compelling and entertaining characters in WWE. His energy is contagious, and the fans are invested in his work. However, Fatu was more successful as a heel. In fact, it felt as if the villainous persona came more naturally to him.
The Samoan Werewolf turned face for a feud with Sikoa, but Triple H clearly didn’t have long-term plans for Fatu. There were extended periods when he was off TV, and he frequently missed PLEs. The program with McIntyre was great. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Fatu’s win-loss record as a babyface.
Therefore, Fatu may turn heel to change his fortunes, and a program with Reigns could be the catalyst for the character change. The OTC and the Usos clearly viewed the Samoan Werewolf as an outsider. According to the storyline, Sikoa brought Fatu into WWE. This was acknowledged during their promo on RAW.
We also saw Fatu use the Tongan Death Grip on Reigns to close the show. The World Heavyweight Champion was gasping for air as Fatu nearly choked him out. Fans are seeing a darker version of the Samoan Werewolf, and it may not be long before we witness a full-blown heel turn.
