AEW Rampage Preview 06/09/23

AEW Rampage Preview: 4 way graphic

AEW continues its debut stint in Colorado Spring tonight with the second edition of Rampage to be on it’s normal timeslot in the last two months. While the line-up may not be stacked with title matches from start to finish, it does feature a match that has direct effect on next week’s edition of Dynamite from Washington DC.

If you want to know what happened on this edition of AEW Rampage, spoilers are here.

AEW Rampage Preview: 6/9/23

The Acclaimed Look To Bounce Back

After their failure to win the AEW Trios Championships at Double Or Nothing from The House Of Black, The Acclaimed, the duo of Anthony Bowens and ‘Platinum’ Max Caster expressed their frustration. While their third member, ‘Daddy Ass’ Billy Gunn tried to re-assure them that things will be alright, the two former AEW World Tag Team Champions vowed to try again and win the Trios titles so that their dear ol’ ‘Daddy Ass’ can have one last title. After all, despite his physique not showing it, Billy Gunn is 60 years old.

As such, they set out to win their way back to a Trios title match in the future. But first they need to defeat the Spanish Announce Project. The trio of Serpentico, Luther and Angelico. Good thing there aren’t any Spanish announce tables to break in AEW. Yet.

Did They Loan Ethan Page?

In a peculiar one, we have more trios action. As Bandido teams up with the ROH World Tag Team Champions, Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix once again to face members of The Firm. The groups status seems to be in limbo now. As The Gunns seem to have abandoned the group to join Bullet Club Gold, Stokely Hathaway is now one of Ring Of Honor’s general managers and Ethan Page’s contract was won by the Hardys. But wait! In spite of the Hardys being ‘All Ego’s’ lords and masters, he’s allowed to go team with his old stablemates, Lee Moriarty and Big Bill Morrissey. Weird.

4 Way Contenders Match

Skye Blue, Nyla Rose, Dr. Britt Baker DMD and the recently returning former ROH Women’s Champion Mercedes Martinez are set to clash in a 4 Way match. The winner will get an AEW Women’s World Championship match against Toni Storm this coming Wednesday on Dynamite.

Nyla Rose is no stranger to wrestling for said title at the Capital One Center in Washington DC. Her hometown. And at Dynamite’s debut, she faced RIHO to determine the first Champion. But lost. Dr. Britt Baker of course is a former Champion too. However Sky Blue and Martinez have never even had a shot at the title. Lets see how it goes.

All that, plus Powerhouse Hobbs will be in action and more. Tonight on AEW Rampage.
